Greeting fellow blog followers. I’ve been absent from this blog for a couple of months, and decided it was time to get back to it. I recently received a copy of the Iprimis newsletter published by Hillsdale college that featured an article written by Dr. Laryy P. Arnn, president of Hillsdale College. I thought I’d share some of his thoughts with you, and I’ve interjected some thoughts of my own as well.. So without further ado, here is my latest post. ENJOY.
Dr. Larry Arnn, President of Hillsdale College, wrote… Continue reading
ARE WE AMERICANS LEAPING INTO A VERITABLE OPEN CESSPOOL: a cesspool of our own digging? I believe we are. God gave us through the Founding Fathers one of the most perfect forms of government (peoples’ law) ever devised in the history of the world, and like Esau, whose bulb didn’t burn quite as bright as his twin brother Jacob’s, we seem willing to fritter away our birthrights in exchange for a bowl of lintel soup in the form of monarchic socialism.
We started digging this cesspool 100 years ago with the advent of the Progressive movement, and I’m sad to… Continue reading
Greetings blog followers: First I want to thank Will for giving me the opportunity to speak my piece on his blog.
I’m on my fifth reading of a novel entitled “The Harbinger,” by Rabbi Jonathan Cahn. It’s a Biblical based novel taken from scripture in Isaiah 9:10, and is primarily centered around the destruction of Ancient Israel in 732 B.C. The people of that nation had fallen out of God’s will, and He had sent them nine harbingers (warnings) that if they didn’t… Continue reading
Bill Corbett put the following post on Facebook. When I read it, it occurred to me that maybe some of my blog followers may not be on Facebook, so with Bill’s permission, I’m posting it here as well. Enjoy.
“A DEMOCRACY CANNOT EXIST AS A PERMANENT FORM OF GOVERNMENT. IT CAN ONLY EXIST UNTIL THE VOTERS DISCOVER THAT THEY CAN VOTE THEMSELVES LARGESSE FROM THE PUBLIC TREASURY. FROM THAT MOMENT ON, THE MAJORITY ALWAYS VOTES FOR THE CANDIDATES PROMISING THE MOST BENEFITS FROM THE PUBLIC TREASURY WITH THE RESULT THAT A DEMOCRACY ALWAYS COLLAPSES OVER… Continue reading
In a few days we will again celebrate our independence from the bondage of England. I wonder how many more of these celebrations we have left before we are back in bondage.
Alexander Tytler had a theory about democracies, or free governments, that he likened to a circle of bondage. It is written that he didn’t have much faith in democracies; that he was more of a monarchist himself. He was writing at the time about Athenian democracies. Little did he realize how profound his writing would be regarding the United States in describing our evolution from freedom back into… Continue reading
I’ve experienced somewhat of an epiphany today. As I listened to a Baptist Minister’s sermon this morning espousing the need to look for the joys in life, I remembered the council my very wise father gave me over the years as I was growing up. “Billy,” he would say,(I was always Billy to him) “behind every dark cloud there’s a silver lining. You just have to look for it.” It’s taken me eighty years to come to the realization that he was right.
Much of my writing of late has been about what I think is the ultimate downfall of… Continue reading
First, as president, I would make a pact with the devil to destroy the U.S. Constitution, and then I would begin this destruction by nationalizing one of the largest auto making companies in America and transfer a sizable portion of its ownership to the Auto Workers Union.
If I were a president who had pledged to fundamentally transform America, I would spit in the eyes of Congress and use… Continue reading
But I digress.
Rube e-mailed me early this morning after he read a news report that said Kasich was pulling out of the Republican presidential race. “Will,” he said, “I reckon as how I smell somethin’ a goin’ on with the Republicans.”
He then went on to ask if he could put another guest post on my blog. I told him, “Sure, by all means.”
So here is Rube… Continue reading
I keep reading on Facebook and other places where the establishment Republicans, and even some conservative Republicans have stated that if Trump gets the nomination for president, they will vote for Hillary, or they won’t bother to vote at all. As I see it, every non-vote for the Donald would put Madam Hillary one vote closer to the presidency.
This makes absolutely no sense to me. I liken it to cutting the nose off an ugly face just to spite the face. If one were to do that, the ugly face would in… Continue reading
