Why Is That Trump Feller So Popular With The People and Not With The Establishment Republicans—A Guest Post by Rube

HeadShot_burnedGreetings folks.  Well, Rube asked if he could weigh in again today.  He had some observations that coincide with mine, so I said, “yes, by all means, let’s see what you have to say.”  So as usual, without further ado, here’s Rube.

Howdy, folks.  I was a listenin’ ta that Rush Limbaugh feller on the radio the other day, and I reckon as how he said some things I just had to agree with.  He was a talkin’ about that Trump… Continue reading

Do Dark Days Lie Ahead For The United States?

HeadShot_burnedI believe this election year may well be the tipping point for the United States of America. Rabbi Jonathan Cahn wrote a spellbinding Biblical based novel a few years ago describing the falling away from God by the Ancient Israelites around 722 B.C. In the beginning, God entered a covenant with Israel that said as long as they remained true to His ways He would always protect them. They eventually began to fall away and, after several warnings, God finally destroyed that country.  It wasn’t until twenty six and a half centuries later(1947) that He gave them another little… Continue reading

There are too Many Republicrats in the Republican Party—America needs a 2nd Major Political Party

Will Edwinson PhotoGreetings, folks:

This post ran last July about the time the primary season started, but in light of the tone of the primary elections, I think it bears a second go around.

I think America needs a new major political party—not a third party, but a real, and viable, 2nd party.  The problem in American politics today is that we are living under the delusion that we have a two party system; but the reality is, we have a quasi two party system with a few splinter parties; and we have only one… Continue reading

This blog was originally posted on October 26, of last year, but with the current political primary elections taking place right now, I think it bears posting again.

There is a notion being bandied about these days(mostly by liberals) that the United States is a democracy.  Some have even erroneously referred to our system of government as a representative democracy.  Are we a democracy or a representative republic—or have we morphed into an oligarchy? Let’s explore these questions a bit further.

democracy—a noun An organization where everyone is treated equally and has… Continue reading

Something Worth Pondering

HeadShot_burnedGreetings friends and followers of this blog.  A while back I said I was going shift gears and blog more about nostalgia and things of the past.  Well, current events are such that I’m afraid I’m going to have to renege on that pledge.

Most liberal Democrats of today like to tout themselves as progressives.  Is that a good thing, or a bad thing? Well…how many of us remember those famous words of Bill Clinton when he said: “it depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’, is?  My definition of… Continue reading

Howdy folks:

A couple a weeks or so back, I wrote a piece about how I reckoned as how that Trump feller would drop out of the presidential race at some later date. Well, I reckon as how I mighta been right.  I see on the news where he says he is not gonna take part in the upcoming January 28 debates on… Continue reading

A Bit of Nostalgia—Fibber McGee and Molly

HeadShot_burnedGreetings friends and blog followers. I recently came into the possession of some old radio broadcasts of an era long gone, but not forgotten.  Last night I had the pleasure of traveling back in time to the 1940s, where I spent time with Fibber McGee and Molly.  Fibber McGee & MollyWhen I was a youngster, we, as a family used to sit in the living room and spend the evening before bedtime listening to the radio.  Old Time RadioThe radios in those days were large and were part of the living room furniture, as is observed… Continue reading

I THINK I Figgered Out The Donald’s Strategy—A guest Post by Rube

HeadShot_burnedGreetings friends: In an earlier post I mentioned that I was going to refrain from writing about current events for a while.  However, in a post script, I mentioned that Rube would still be contributing from time to time.  This is one of those times.  So here’s Rube.  Enjoy.

Howdy agin, folks.  It’s been a spell since I wrote on Will’s blog, but I’m back fer another one.  I hope you enjoy it.

That feller Donald Trump has been a leadin’ in the… Continue reading

HeadShot_burnedGreetings, blog followers.  For the past several posts, I have been concentrating on current events and the way things are in the world and in our country.  I’ve decided the country is going to hell in a hand basket; too many of our politicians (in both major political parties)are either disingenuous or downright dishonest and corrupt. The same holds true  for many department head bureaucrats and the judiciary and there is nothing I can do about it, so I’m shifting gears a bit and going back to writing about the way things were in… Continue reading
