Following are excerpts from a column I wrote for the Idaho State Journal a few years ago, which are still apropos today.
When I was in the farming business, we had a term for tractors and trucks that weren’t up to the task of pulling or transporting the loads we expected of them. We referred to them as “gutless wonders.” We have Republican members of Congress to whom I would give that same moniker. The United States is facing major crises and… Continue reading
There is a tale about Lemmings that is alleged to be mythical. Mythical or not, these little rodents are portrayed as suicidal zombies that will follow a leader en masse to their demise. Americans appear to be more and more like these little critters every day.
The liberal news media, and the Progressive politicians, for whatever reason, continue to spread the propaganda that capitalism is evil and greedy, that income equalization (as they like to refer to it) is benevolent and fair. And just like Lemmings, a good number… Continue reading
Greetings, folks. Well…Rube has another guest post today. So as always, I’ll let him get right to it. Here’s Rube.
I was a thinkin’ the other day that I reckon as how them liberals might have themselves a bit of a conundrum with the election comin’ up next year fer president Fer instant, let’s say the Republicans nominate that… Continue reading
Greetings folks. I have an interesting topic to discuss today.
Bill Corbett received a letter from House Speaker John Boehner a while back. Included in the Speaker’s letter was a personal check in the amount of $100.00 made out to the… Continue reading
Howdy agin’, folks. Well…I reckon as how I gotta say I agree with Will about his callin’ them establishment Republicans a bunch of Republicrats. They ain’t nothin’ more’n a bunch of liberal Democrats in Republicans’ clothin’. Like Will says, they talk the talk, but they sure… Continue reading
Howdy folks. Well, I recently came into the possession of a couple books about two of our more modern day philosophers—Mark Twain and Will Rogers. They might not qualify to be philosophers like them fellers of ancient days such as Aristotle, or Confucius, or Plato or Socrates, but I reckon as how they still qualify as philosophers, anyhow.… Continue reading
If the national Republican Party expects to survive, it needs to stop listening to Democrats and their allies in the main stream media, and start listening to its real base. There are too many Republicrats in control of the Republican Party right now.
Many years ago, back in he early 1960s, I was a delegate to the Idaho State Republican convention. During the general assembly, an elderly gentleman who was highly regarded in the party, gave an impassioned speech stressing the point that the Republican Party needed to broaden its base.… Continue reading
