BEHIND EVERY BLACK CLOUD THERE’S A SILVER LINING
I’ve experienced somewhat of an epiphany today. As I listened to a Baptist Minister’s sermon this morning espousing the need to look for the joys in life, I remembered the council my very wise father gave me over the years as I was growing up. “Billy,” he would say,(I was always Billy to him) “behind every dark cloud there’s a silver lining. You just have to look for it.” It’s taken me eighty years to come to the realization that he was right.
Much of my writing of late has been about what I think is the ultimate downfall of… Continue reading
SO…TRUMP THREATENS THE RULE OF LAW. Hmmmm!

If I Were a President Who….
IF I WERE A PRESIDENT WHO HAD MADE A PLEDGE AS A CANDIDATE IN THE 2008 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN TO FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORM AMERICA, WHAT WOULD I DO?
First, as president, I would make a pact with the devil to destroy the U.S. Constitution, and then I would begin this destruction by nationalizing one of the largest auto making companies in America and transfer a sizable portion of its ownership to the Auto Workers Union.
If I were a president who had pledged to fundamentally transform America, I would spit in the eyes of Congress and use… Continue reading
I SMELL DEAD FISH!—A Guest Post by Rube
Greetings folks. Wow, I just realized I hadn’t made a post to this blog in over a month. My…how time flies when you get old.
But I digress.
Rube e-mailed me early this morning after he read a news report that said Kasich was pulling out of the Republican presidential race. “Will,” he said, “I reckon as how I smell somethin’ a goin’ on with the Republicans.”
He then went on to ask if he could put another guest post on my blog. I told him, “Sure, by all means.”
So here is Rube… Continue reading
CUTTING OFF THEIR NOSE TO SPITE THEIR FACE—Are We Facing A Second Declaration of Independence?.
I keep reading on Facebook and other places where the establishment Republicans, and even some conservative Republicans have stated that if Trump gets the nomination for president, they will vote for Hillary, or they won’t bother to vote at all. As I see it, every non-vote for the Donald would put Madam Hillary one vote closer to the presidency.
This makes absolutely no sense to me. I liken it to cutting the nose off an ugly face just to spite the face. If one were to do that, the ugly face would in… Continue reading
Why Is That Trump Feller So Popular With The People and Not With The Establishment Republicans—A Guest Post by Rube
Greetings folks. Well, Rube asked if he could weigh in again today. He had some observations that coincide with mine, so I said, “yes, by all means, let’s see what you have to say.” So as usual, without further ado, here’s Rube.
Howdy, folks. I was a listenin’ ta that Rush Limbaugh feller on the radio the other day, and I reckon as how he said some things I just had to agree with. He was a talkin’ about that Trump… Continue reading
Do Dark Days Lie Ahead For The United States?
I believe this election year may well be the tipping point for the United States of America. Rabbi Jonathan Cahn wrote a spellbinding Biblical based novel a few years ago describing the falling away from God by the Ancient Israelites around 722 B.C. In the beginning, God entered a covenant with Israel that said as long as they remained true to His ways He would always protect them. They eventually began to fall away and, after several warnings, God finally destroyed that country. It wasn’t until twenty six and a half centuries later(1947) that He gave them another little… Continue reading
There are too Many Republicrats in the Republican Party—America needs a 2nd Major Political Party
This post ran last July about the time the primary season started, but in light of the tone of the primary elections, I think it bears a second go around.
I think America needs a new major political party—not a third party, but a real, and viable, 2nd party. The problem in American politics today is that we are living under the delusion that we have a two party system; but the reality is, we have a quasi two party system with a few splinter parties; and we have only one… Continue reading
IS THE U.S. A DEMOCRACY OR A REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC, OR…HAVE WE MORPHED INTO AN OLIGARCHY?
This blog was originally posted on October 26, of last year, but with the current political primary elections taking place right now, I think it bears posting again.
Will
There is a notion being bandied about these days(mostly by liberals) that the United States is a democracy. Some have even erroneously referred to our system of government as a representative democracy. Are we a democracy or a representative republic—or have we morphed into an oligarchy? Let’s explore these questions a bit further.
democracy—a noun An organization where everyone is treated equally and has… Continue reading
Something Worth Pondering
Greetings friends and followers of this blog. A while back I said I was going shift gears and blog more about nostalgia and things of the past. Well, current events are such that I’m afraid I’m going to have to renege on that pledge.
Most liberal Democrats of today like to tout themselves as progressives. Is that a good thing, or a bad thing? Well…how many of us remember those famous words of Bill Clinton when he said: “it depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’, is? My definition of… Continue reading
